Environmental scientist bridging soil carbon research, remote sensing, and open-access data — turning complex environmental datasets into insights that drive climate and sustainability policy.
I am Aldi Airori, an environmental scientist and Research Technologist I at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources (IANR), with 5+ years of experience in environmental data analysis, soil carbon research, and sustainable resource management.
My work centers on digital soil carbon research and agroecosystem science — combining field data collection, laboratory analysis, and spatial/statistical modeling in Python, R, and ArcGIS to support emission-reduction strategies and sustainable land management.
I hold an M.S. in Natural Resource Sciences and a B.S. in Environmental Science, both from UNL. My international experience includes work as a Remote Research Consultant for the World Resources Institute, analyzing sustainable energy and agricultural policy across Southeast Asia in coordination with NGOs and government stakeholders.
I am committed to open-access science and reproducible workflows — building public tools and datasets that help accelerate the transition toward a low-carbon global economy.

Lead environmental data and research operations for agroecosystem projects. Built multi-stage ML pipelines (Gaussian Process Regression, Random Forest, KNN imputation) integrated with Google Earth Engine remote sensing workflows for soil carbon MRV research across a 3-year multi-treatment field experiment. Developed and deployed SOC Fractionation Lab Tracker, an open-source web application. Managing $76K+ budgets annually, supervising staff, and developing QA/QC protocols and lab SOPs for reproducible, open-access agroecosystem sustainability and compliance research.
Designed and led digital soil carbon studies supporting sustainable land management and emission-reduction strategies. Performed statistical and spatial analyses in R, Python, and ArcGIS, produced technical reports and visual summaries, and presented findings at national conferences while contributing to peer-reviewed publications.
Conducted research on sustainable energy and agricultural policy in Southeast Asia. Analyzed environmental data to align regional policies with global climate goals, coordinating with NGOs and government stakeholders across the region.
Graduate research focused on soil science, environmental data analysis, and sustainable land management. Developed expertise in R, Python, ArcGIS, and scientific writing for peer-reviewed publication.
Foundation in environmental systems, field research methods, and quantitative analysis. Developed cross-cultural collaboration skills and a globally-minded approach to environmental problem-solving.
I'm open to research collaborations, consulting on environmental data and GIS workflows, speaking at outreach events, or connecting with scientists and practitioners working at the intersection of land, climate, and data.
